Trains – Toddler Storytime

Another day covering storytime this week.  It’s been fun to get out there and experience what my team does on a regular basis.  In my current role I don’t get to do a lot of storytimes, so it’s fun when I get to step in.

As I’ve tried to do when I cover, I want to take on some of the elements that my colleagues use so that there is continuity for those who are attending the storytime.  So you may see a lot of new elements below that I stole borrowed from my colleague who usually runs toddler storytime.

Listen Up! Train Song by Victoria Allenby

MOVEMENT: Storytime’s Over*
Since we have playtime after storytime, I changed the words of this one so that we don’t say goodbye (since a lot of people still stay for the playtime):

Let’s give a big sigh
Storytime’s over
How time does fly!

Fruit – Baby Storytime

This was my first time covering Baby Storytime in a while, and I only knew I was going to be covering the night before.  So I pulled together a few books and things I had on hand and started the week with Baby Storytime.

Since I was covering for a colleague for this storytime, I tried to incorporate a lot of the elements that she uses in her storytimes.
